CPA FA Roba Adan Abdi has vast experience in risk management, quality assurance process, operations efficiency, Islamic banking, internal audit, financial management and general organizational management. He has been a resource person for trainings organized by Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS) and Kenya Bankers Association (KBA).
He was overall coordinator of Organizational Performance Index (OPI) teams that were preparing Gulf African Bank for Company of the Year (COYA) awards. The Bank won in two categories. He has attended numerous leadership and management trainings and also addressed senior executives of public and private organizations on organizational excellence.
He has written articles in peer reviewed journals and premier magazines. He is a fellow of Gandhi Smarak Fund of the University of Nairobi and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) postgraduate awards. Roba holds a first class honours degree in Finance from Maseno University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Nairobi. Currently, he is undertaking his doctoral degree thesis in Finance (PhD Finance).
He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA), a Certified Investments and Financial Analyst (CIFA) and a Certified Pension Trustee by the College of Insurance, Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and Humber Centre for Employee Benefits (Toronto, Canada). He is a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA- Kenya) and the Institute of Certified Investments and Financial Analysts (ICIFA).
